Year Six Games at Sir William Borlase
14 July, 2010
On Thursday 1st July, Laura co-ordinated her first Year Six Games Day in blistering heat!
With seven schools present providing ten teams between them, three hundred year 6 students participated in the Year Six Games day hosted at Sir William Borlase's Grammar School. Along with 70 Sports Leaders (students from Sir William Borlase's Grammar School), all the students played Hockey, Tag Rugby, Netball, Table Tennis, Tennis, Football and Cricket. The primary schools involved were Spinfield, Danesfield, St Peter's, Holy Trinity, Burford, Downley and Tylers Green Middle School.
Individual team winners of each sport were presented with winners medals and a Player of the Sport Tournament and a Fair Play Award (chosen by the Sports Leaders) were awarded winner certificates by 100m GB Sprinter Rion Pierre.
The standard of the participants was amazing and the end of the event was extremely tense as the schools waited for Netball to finish as this result decided the eventual winner....
In third place, Spinfield School, In second place, Burford School, ....and with 2 points separating 2nd and 1st place the eventual winners were Danesfield B Team.
Well done to all the competitors who made the day so great and to all the Sports Leaders for all their amazing hard work. The winner for their 'banner' was Tylers Green Middle School. A big thank you to everyone and especially to Bucks TV and Rion Pierre for being part of the day.
